David Wealthy
I’m originally from North Yorkshire, but moved down south after University, and have lived in North Hertfordshire ever since.
I am now enjoying retirement after 39 years in the Aerospace industry. I was a space systems engineer, helping to design and operate spacecraft for ESA, MoD, and commercial companies.
Rosy and I moved to Therfield in 2009, having previously lived in Baldock. Moving from a town, we have enjoyed the closer community of the village.
My hobbies include walking, we have so many green lanes and footpaths on our doorstep; playing the piano, astronomy/cosmology and I’ve recently restarted tennis and golf. I also belong to the local RoSPA Advanced Drivers Group, have been a tutor for people wishing to improve their driving and safety on the road, and I hope to restart this.
I would like to help our community think more about our impact on the environment and investigate what small steps we can all make which will benefit the community, help nature thrive and ultimately help the planet.
My roles on the council cover biodiversity, liaison with Therfield Conservators, along with the Defibrillator and website.
