April Update from your Parish Council
Brief report from the council that was included in the April village newsletter.

Highways and Byways
Although we are all getting expert at dodging the numerous potholes, do continue to take care. One passing motorist recently had the misfortune to get two flat tyres on the road from Buckland near Slate Hall Farm.
If you think you’ve found a new pothole, then report it through https://www.north-herts.gov.uk/road-maintenance-and-closures.
There is a map on the reporting site making it possible to see which have been reported and their status.
On 26th-28th April there is a road closure planned for the bottom part of Heath road (the road from Kelshall Tops down to the A505).
Do you lose track of which bin is collected when? There is a phone app which is very useful, just search for “North Herts” in your favourite app store. It gives useful recycling information, waste collection days, and links to other services.
Play Ground:
The sale of Yew Tree House has now completed and so we will be discussing the extension of the lease with the new owner.
Now the weather is improving some of the necessary maintenance can be performed and we are purchasing a new picnic bench for the area.
For the larger items that require attention (zip wire and roundabout) we are looking at external funding.
Planning:
Nothing to report
Council
A big thank you to the villagers who took part in the litter pick. Once again a fair amount of rubbish was picked up on the outskirts of the village.
We still have vacancies for two councillors so if you are interested in getting involved in the management of the village then please come and talk to us or email clerk@therfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk
We held a council meeting on the 10th March at the Chapel. The agenda and minutes are available on the website and noticeboards.
On Saturday 16th May we will be holding the Annual Parish Meeting in Fordham Hall. This is NOT a formal council meeting but is an opportunity for the council and local organisations to let you know what has been going on over the past year. The meeting is also an opportunity for electors to have a say on anything they consider valuable to the people of the Parish.
We’ll put out a poster in due course on this, but please contact us if you would like a place on the agenda.
Communication
The council will use the google group called the “hub” for sending out important information as well as using the official website.
If you are not currently subscribed to the hub, then we recommend that you sign up. To do so, send an email to hub@therfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk to be added to the list. The links can also be found on the parish website.
Our operational site is www.therfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk .
Please consult this site for information on meetings, notices etc.
